The Designer Spotlight event is where Meeple’s Brew invites boardgame designers to come host a play test for their games that are still in development. Each event will be featuring games from a particular designer and it’ll be free to play any of the games brought by the designers. This is your opportunity to provide feedback before these awesome games get published!
This week we’ll be featuring games from Mitch Wallace! He’ll be bringing 4 different games all inspired by tile laying mechanics.
Plentiful
Plentiful is a 2-6 player 40-50 minute tile-laying spacial-puzzle game with simultaneous play. Each player is a farmer attempting to win the annual county fair by growing the most crops over 4 seasons by grouping like crops together. The catch … players don’t always get to chose which crops are planted on their land.
Wild Meadow
Wild Meadow is a 2-6 player 30-45-minute tile-laying pattern-building game in which players are building a wild meadow of flowers. Each player matches unique flower tiles based upon 3 flower parts; petals, discs, and styles. It’s a race to gain points yet the player with the highest lowest values of 2 flower parts wins.
Quilted
Quilted is a 2-4 player tile-laying game where each player is vying to create the most valuable quilt. By drafting quilt tiles to match quilt patterns, fabric colors, setting squares, and block formations in a 4x4 grid, there are many ways to score in this casual, comfy, and competitive game. The playtime is 10 minutes per player.
Tetrad
Tetrad is an abstract tile-laying game of matching shapes and values and is a race to make 4 matches in 4 categories first. The game has 10 categories for players to score. As the tiles are played the board grows, so do the options and the decisions. Can you find enough matches before your opponents? The playtime of Tetrad is around 30 minutes and allows 2-6 players.
